Lindig Lodge

3 Bedroom - 4 Bath - Sleeps 11

If you’re looking for the ultimate “log cabin in the woods”, then look no further than Lindig Lodge.

Occupying a 5-acre lot with expansive views of forested fields and the magnificent Byers Peak Mountain beyond, the Lindig Lodge is situated in the peaceful and historic community of Stagecoach Meadows.

The history is tied to the 4 Bar 4 Road, officially Grand County Road 5, and the route of the old Stagecoach that carried travelers and the mail through the County. On the way to Lindig Lodge, you’ll pass the original homestead, built in the mid- to late 1800s, and the two-story log structure and barn still standing, which was the original stage-stop and hotel. Today, Stagecoach Meadows has evolved into a rural neighborhood of single private family homes, hidden among trees, meadows and wildlife corridors, conjuring up the true feeling of mountain ranch living.

Located just 6½ miles from the center of Winter Park and 9½ miles from the ski area, Lindig Lodge is a unique, custom-built, 2-story log cabin of 2,774 heated square feet, with 4 bedrooms plus loft-nook offering sleeping for up to 11 people.

The huge log poles that were used to build the house are preserved inside as well as out with very few artificially created walls or partitions, together with polished hardwood floor throughout, make this the true definition of a log home.

A huge ground floor great room with vaulted ceiling and massive south-facing over-sized framed arched windows greets you as you enter the home. A comfortable living area with Dish TV, dining area that seats 8, and a breakfast bar for 2-3 more are all serviced by a floor-to-ceiling rock & stone gas fireplace.

The beautiful kitchen has an arched entryway, log cabinetry, granite countertops and a Viking range with 5 burners plus oven & microwave, all built-in to a traditional brick wall which extends to the breakfast bar the other side.

On the ground floor are two bedrooms, one sleeping up to three people and the second sleeping up to four people; both offering en-suite bathrooms with showers. One bedroom as a queen plus twin bed and the other has a set of bunks also with a twin bed and twin trundle. Further along from the bedrooms is a laundry room with washer and dryer, plus a ¾-bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

The first floor is accessed by an expertly crafted log staircase, at the top of which is a “loft-nook” with gas fireplace and queen sleeper-sofa that will sleep 2.

One then enters the first floor great room – an enormous family-friendly area with vaulted log ceiling, living space with leather sofas centered round a 65” flat-screen HDTV with Dish satellite and DVD player, plus a table tennis table. Decks front and back are accessed from this great room.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed with large en-suite bathroom comprising extra-deep jetted tub, separate shower plus dual vanities.

Front and back decks plus an oversized 2-car garage complete the picture for this wonderful log home which is sure to be a hit with families in search of a unique winter vacation experience.
